High Cholesterol

The body does need a certain amount of cholesterol in order function optimally. Cholesterol is a fat-like substance that travels around our blood by two types of protein – LDL – low density protein (bad) which we want to be low and HDL – high density protein (good) which is good to be high.

If you have high levels on LDL – this can mean that fat is travelling around the blood and deposits of  fat are begining to stick the walls if this continues the arteries can become blocked when can then lead onto serious heart conditions such as stroke or heart attack.

HDL is the good fat that tries excrete bad from the body, which means that low levels of HDL can also lead to health conditions also.
