Crohns Disease

A severe inflammatory and ulceration condition to all four layers of the intestinal wall.  It most often effects the lower part of the small intestine but can involve the whole digestive tract.

Symptoms may be:

  • Abdominal pain
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhoea
  • Unexplained weight loss
  • Weakness
  • Rectal bleeding
  • Lack of energy.
  • Fever, chills, fatty stools and loss of appetite often accompany.

If the disease become chronic bowel health deteriorates, absorption is compromised and malnutrition can occur.  Food intolerance’s are often seen with crohns.
