Coeliac

This is an intolerance to  a protein in gluten called gliadin found in Wheat, rye, oats and barley.   When gliadin is eating it damages the intestinal wall and can cause ‘leaky gut’  This then leads to the inability to absorb many nutrients in ones diet and can eventually lead to malnutrition.

Coeliac disease can occur iat any age, usually childhood and go un-diagnosed for many years.  Symptoms can range from mild to severe and can also be inherited.  Some people experience:  weight loss, fatigue, diarrhea, abdominal pain , skin rashes, vomiting and anemia.  Fluid retention can be noticed in the ankles and legs.

Once diagnosed the condition can be managed successfully.
