Hives

Hives is a skin disorder notable for pale red, raised, itchy bumps. Hives can be caused by a variety of different irritants including drug and medication allergies, insect bites, food sensitivities and contact with allergenic substances or materials. Less common causes of hives include friction, pressure, temperature extremes, exercise, and sunlight.

Hives typically last for a few days to weeks, but in chronic cases can last for longer than 6 weeks.
