Endometriosis

This usually occurs in women between 25-40 years old.  It is a condition where cells from the endometrial (uterus lining) are found growing in other parts of the body, usually the pelvic region.  Even though they are not in the uterus they act as if they are and bleed on a monthly cycle.  This blood has no way of exiting the body so can form cysts and adhesion’s when they grow.  This can cause a lot of pain.

Symptoms of endometriosis are:  severe abdominal, uterine, lower back pain around menstruation  and abnormal or heavy bleeding.

Endometriosis can cause fertility issues if left un-diagnosed.
