Back Pain

Back pain is possibly the most common reason why people come to visit us here at The Bodyworks Practice. There are many forms of back pain and they can affect the entire back, from the neck and shoulder, to the mid back, lower back and sacral or tail bone. Typically the pain would come from the muscles, bones, nerves, joints and internal organs in relatively close proximity to the affected area.

The level of pain will also vary from case to case, from mild intermittent aggravation through to very debilitating sever pain. It may also vary from a sharp stabbing pain, to a burning or ache.

There may also be referral patterns resulting in pain and discomfort felt elsewhere in the body e.g. down the back of the leg, up into the neck or down the arm to mention a few.

It is estimated that 9 out of 10 adults will experience back pain at some point in their life and as many as 50% of the adult working population suffer from on-going, re-occurring back pain.
