Is suitable for both men and women of 18 years or older.  It's a gentle, pain free bowel cleanse working solely on the large intestine / colon. A constant flow of warm water is used to help eliminate  faecal matter, gas, mucus and toxins which have not been expelled from the body.  These wastes are usually rubbery and attached to the colon wall impairing bowel function in some way therefore compromising health.  The benefits of colonic hydrotherapy can be observed almost immediately and you will instantly feel a sense of clarity.

After the treatment your bowel is better able to absorb nutrients, eliminate waste and work efficiently. You will have less bad bacteria and more of the good.  Your skin will feel enriched immediately.  It is completely safe and will rehabilitate and exercise the bowel to encourage better bowel movement.  The colon is roughly 5 – 7 feet in length and 2.5 inches in width, so you can image how much waste is stored in the colon! An efficient bowel will eliminate waste about 3 times per day (or after every main meal).  This equates to 21 bowel movements per week, 84 per month and 1008 per year.  If you are not going 3 times per day imagine how much waste you are holding inside.  

Treating bowel problems has a very high priority tag at The Bodyworks Practice and colonic hydrotherapy prevents far more distress than most people are aware of.  One or two treatments will not cure all.  It is normally recommended that you carry out a course of treatments to begin to maintain the benefits.  The first few should be close together so the bowel can continuously be soaked until removal of waste is achieved.  Then treatments can be spaced out  accordingly to ensure that colon remains clean and functions with ease.  Although not everyone is the same so you will guided as to what treatment plan would be most suitable for you.  Prevention is far better than cure, particularly when most diseases start from the bowel. 

It is not disputed that there are others ways to cleanse the colon (which can be addressed with a nutrition consultation), but colonic hydrotherapy can be a 'quick speedy fix' as long as the advice given is followed. 

Treatment:  On your initial visit you will be health screened to ensure you are suitable for the treatment.  This includes completing a health questionnaire, engaging in some simple non-invasive naturopathic health indicator tests such as, Iridology (please see Iridology), tongue or nail assessments or bach flower remedies.  Throughout every treatment you will receive abdominal massage as this greatly facilitates the release of stools. The colon has many reflex points relating to other areas in the body, by massaging a certain reflex point via abdominal massage it can help alleviate the problem in another part of the body.  The use of enema products may also used within the treatment to assist the colon and the body to eliminate and heal.  All of this is inclusive of the price.  

Contraindications do exist. If you have any doubts, get your doctors  written consent beforehand. The colonic treatment itself takes approximately 45 minutes. Your therapist will stay with you throughout the treatment and do everything for you, all  you have to do is enjoy all the benefits that your body is going to experience.  You will receive nutritional and lifestyle advice from a qualified nutritionist or studying herbalist  to help your body regain optimal health after the treatment.
