The Bodyworks Practice brings you its wrinkle reduction therapy, previously known as Botox, run by our aesthetic nurse with over 20 years experience as an NHS nurse and over 3 years practising as an aesthetic nurse.
Botox® is the trade name for Botulinum Toxin. It is a highly purified naturally occurring protein which when injected in to the muscle makes it relax. It has been safely used for many years for a wide range of medical conditions in both adults and children and has an array of clinical safety date for cosmetic use.
Who would benefit from this treatment?
Generally anyone can benefit from it. If dynamic wrinkles (lines from laughing, smiling, frowning etc) make you feel and look older than you are our wrinkle reduction treatment can smooth these out and give you a more relaxed and natural expression.
Is it safe?
Used medically for over 100 years to relax muscles, this muscle relaxant has a proven safety record. It is used today as a non-surgical cosmetic treatment for frown lines, furrows and wrinkles.
How long does the treatment take?
Most treatments take around 20 minutes and the effects start to appear usually within 2-5 days. With the maximum effect reached within 2 weeks. We always recommend a complimentary two week review for those new to this treatment.
Is the treatment uncomfortable?
It is not a painful treatment but a mild anaesthetic cream can be applied beforehand if preferred.
How long will the effects of this treatment last?
The effects of the treatment lasts between 3 - 4 months. Gradually the effect will wear off and at this stage you can return to us for another treatment and with repeated treatment the effect lasts longer.
How long does the treatment take?
Most treatments take around 20 minutes and the effects start to appear usually from 3 days. The full extent of the treatment may not be visible up to fourteen days after the treatment.
How much does it cost?
Wrinkle Reduction is priced according to the number of areas treated. treated. The frown lines between the eyebrows are one area, the horizontal forehead lines (when you raise your eyebrows) are another area and the crow’s feet around both eyes count as one area.
Prices start from £200
The price includes the follow-up 2 weeks later and any supplementary Botox that may be required on that visit.
Men usually require higher doses and therefore usual aesthetic practice is a £25 supplement.
